MessageI just found you! I have a question:
I found the following link on your site, but it doesn't exactly address my question:
(note: I tried posting the link but I got a message saying that it was disabled, due to abuse)

Essentially, I contacted a blog owner who is willing to give up her (unused) blog to me. But she just deleted it, thinking that I could pick it up, but its still listed as "not available." Will this link (and directions) help us to solve the problem? If not, what would you do?

Many thanks in advance,
Elizabeth

MessageThank you for your help with my File & Printer sharing issue. Only my stubbornness not to place a password on my account prevented me from solving my problem sooner. If I had known about Automatic Login, I would have done the deed at once, after you said you MUST have passwords. Live and learn. I am going to spend the next few hours with your "layered" network testing just to learn more about how it is done so I can provide better service to my customers. Thanks again, Bob

MessageThanks for some encouraging words, even though you had no idea this old graybeard was reading them. I enjoyed them. I've a blog, and now understand how fully complex are the issues of being seen on the net. Balancing the time necessary for work and family and blog and other writing - my! It all certainly does boogle the mind!

I write for entertainment purposes. To entertain myself and, hopefully, to entertain others. You might enjoy checking out "Professor Booknoodle's Scrapbook" on the BookThink site (a great book-related site). My pieces there are serio/comic bits that have had some small degree of applause. Other people have contributed fine articles too. "Adventures of Professor Booknoodle" is just me harrumphing and talking about stuff.

Keep up the good work here. smilie smilie smilie

MessageYou are a terrific teacher, you missed your calling. I've been around computers since the 70's (Silicon Valley child before it was Silicon Valley) but got behind in the last few years and now playing catch-up. Thanks for all the tips and the help.

MessageRBS post request: could you write a post on using "item control" tags so that certain blog elements are visible only to logged-in admins?

Item control appears to be broken on my blog, as I describe in blogger help group: Something Is Broken > admin "item control" elements don't display

(I would give a link but this page won't let me.) Unfortunately, nobody is responding to the forum post...

MessageGreat site - great idea. I realize that implementing all these network layers is complex business, but I don't understand why file sharing across a simple 2-3 PC HOME network of mixed MS OSs is so difficult to implement.

I do not understand why each new OS does not come with a much more robust networking wizard that helps solve the problems that you address

MessageWhat a great blog. I wish blogger itself addressed current issues as concisely and spam free as you do.
