MessageHey! I grew up in Baton Rouge, went to LSU, then came to Philadelphia in 1967 to go to grad. school at the University of Pennsylvania. I never left. Although I love Philadelphia, New Orleans will always be a special place for me.

Thanks for the great recipes.

I'm going to make your shrimp remoulade to take to Christmas dinner.

Messageinteresting site, and some interesting recipes and how to dos. K-Paul's influence is certainly there in your methods. as a fellow denizen of NOLA i too subscribe to the 'food is life' school.

you ever use Jacob's andouille in your cooking? if not try it -- pure magic. they are over in LaPlace off Airline Highway. but there are so many good foods here... and so little time.

MessageHappy Sunday:

Splendid site! You helped me relive the glories of New Orleans before the deluge - both Katrina and the crime wave going on there now. (Call up USA Today, Friday, December 1st.)

Now that I've discovered your marvelous blog I'm going to have to get my chef clothes on. - Will considerably brighten this grey winter day.

Thanks for the wonderful, wonderful site!

MessageI was reading a wonderful book called
The White League and mention was made of
Grillades and grits. We live in Pensacola, Fl and have spent lots of time in New Orleans but
are not familiar with the dish. So I went to the
internet and there you were! I'm thrilled!
thanx so much for the recipe.

MessageI like your website. I'm really into Cajun cooking and I'm doing a feast for friends. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Shrimp Etouffee, Sunflower Salad, Bread Pudding and Creme Brulee. We are starting off with Sazerac cocktails. I'll let you know how it turned out. Paul Prudhomme is such an inspiration. John Folse, too.
Talk at you later.

MessageI LOVE New Orlean, esp. French Quarter and Cafe du Monde and their beignets. My 2nd ex and I went to New Orlean a few times while we were married. After divorce he tried many ways to get me to go with him when he made a business trip out of town. The poor fool never knew me well enough to realize all he had to say was "New Orleans" as the destination.
