MessageHello Patrick Kearney..! We were in HQ troop together. I was a friend of James J. Fox, and for a while I lived in the "attic" of the HQ building. I drove the SQ S-3, Captain James Randall, one of the very few black officers. A truly great guy to work with and for.
You probably remember Sgt Figueroa.
Happy New year to all the Troopers from "the day", and a special Greeting to those I've been fortunate enough to see again decades later...Schroeder, Mandery, Walsh, Theoret,(may he rest in Peace) Kelly , Roger Smith. The memories are great...!!

MessageHq Trp 8/61 to 9/63.
I was a Track Vehicle Mechanic, I worked on Hq65 and 66 and the 114s assigned to HQ, I drove the XO, CWO Ferguson when we went out on alert or on maneuvers. I was extended and was there for the Cuban crisis, also during that period there was a small Berlin crisis. I worked part time at the USO club.
White smoke goes up. Dark soot comes down, ever see that before.

MessageI remember Jim Drummond from M Troop in 1970-71. I was there as a 63B, tank mechanic. Sgt. Nelson Irizarry was running the motor pool for most of my time there. Jim Helms from Indiana and Craig Housley from Iowa have both come to Louisiana to visit. After college, was a hospital administrator, then elected tax assessor and later sheriff. After 20 years in politics, now in the concrete business. A bunch of grandchildren. Jim, you OU or OSU?
