Message | My lovely wife and I visited McPheeters Barracks shortly after the ceremony. Walking around the Kaserne today is indeed a strange experience.Echos of "the day", standing on the front porch of the former "L" troop , and the former HQ buildings. I swear I could still hear the stainless steel mess trays banging...!!! Lots of fond memories. Larry Thompson L &HQ troops '60-'63 |

Message | I have just finished reading all 21 pages of the guest book. Just today I spoke to a trooper who I had last seen in 1959. We were stationed at the airfield in Fulda. He was with 1st BN and I was with the Aviation Company which has just been formed in 1960. I was a crew chief on an L-19 Bird dog. In my spare time I was a clerk typist until the guy I was supposed to replace went home. I use to make gas runs to Bad Hershfeld and Bad Kissingen. This is one terrific web site and I wish there was one just for the 14th in Fulda. I have a yearbook published in 1960 and all of the 14th is in it, Fulda, BH & BK. Sometime you can find your old buddies by going to Whitepages.com. You might be surprised, I was.. [email protected] |
