MessageI was born in Bad Hersfeld Sept. 16, 1955. My mother was Ingaborg Gertrude Ortloff. I am searching for my biological father who was stationed in or around Bad Hersfeld in 1955. Please contact me at my e-mail address if you have any information that would assist me in my search.
Thank you very much!

MessageMy father James W Moore served 1965-1966 Bad Hersfeld , I was born there too. He told me many stories of driving the APC and a jeep for an officer on border patrol. After serving he returned home to Cincinnati(Milford) Ohio. He passed away last year, and I have recently found quite a few pictures of that time. How do I submit scanned copies of these?

Thanks James [email protected]

MessageMy Father First Master Sargent Trooper Ross McGhee Jr. was in this Battalion from 17th May 53 to 9th Feb. 1955 for Border Patrol duty and then went to the 519th Transportation Company a segregated Black company that chauffeured Leona Horn, Joe Louis, and the Andrew Sisters for the USO shows. Whats so weird is that I have owned and sold several limousine companies. Today I now sell and service limousines in Washington DC. The 519th just had their last reunion at Ft Aberdeen Md. Johnny, Sullivan, Willard Black, and Jessie Ruth said they where to old to do these reunions. Up in their late 80's and just tired of talking about dead Troopers. They had one big last reunion and Signed off and Saluted all that served. www.ustrans.biz I was born in Kafertal on Backerweg # 11 to Gertrud Ringer Knapp 1953

MessageHi Jerry.

Go to the Deitz web site in the photo section.
Click on 14th GIs H,I,K,L,M. there are a lot of pictures. Go to the on that is marked John McOsker "Boot Of Beer" I am the one in the center with a tan coat on. Along with Earl Hardeman and others you will find Donelly. Is he the same Donnelly that was your buddy? I was in Hq. Squadron Maintenance from 65 to 67. Sure I knew Frisco and all the others. Shakey Burkett was something else. Just about everyone knew Joe Jackman. My room was on the first floor the the left of the orderly room. Do you remember Beaver, Reese, Dick Hall and the others I mentioned in my last posting. If you are in any of the other pictures let me know. You never know what you will find on this web site

Take care, John

MessageTo John McOsker,
Thanks for the note and update, my closest buddy was Robert Donnelly who drove the 5ton Wrecker and always smiling. I spent most of my hours at the motor pool always getting ready for inspection, those were some real fun times. were you in HQ company?

MessageMessage for Jerry Dix. I was in 3rd. squad maint from 64 to 67. Can't forget Sgt Jackman and Frisco. Some other names: Dick Hall, James Beaver, Barnes, Tanner, Borges, Faulx, Gray, Reese, Shakey Burkett who ran the motor pool. We must have bumped into each other more than once. Great times at the EM club. I was the guy that played guitar and singing folk songs at the end of the hall by the window facing the main gate.
Not easy playing Dylan when most of the guys wanted Hank Snow.

What a blast!
