MessageDennis,

You have no idea how much pleasure your site has given me this evening!

After a lousy day in the office I've never been so delighted to see these old pictures (I have spotted three Ford Corsairs in them - I have 2000E). Also, it's lovely to see you with Ted Hemsley. You can quite clearly see that I have been cheered up!.

THANK YOU!

Zac Lawrence

MessageDeep Purple was a great influential band and I too agree one of the best in the world! The live experience of concert was one of the best I have ever seen. I saw them in the middle of a Blizzard in Witchita,KA way back when...Richie B. and John Lord did the most incredible play-off of sorts that was hell-a-shish if that is a word. They traded licks up to a point of no return. Also, have never seen a organ played and abused so Beautifully as he literally rocked it back and fourth pounding out excellent music. When Blackmore did his solo I swear there was a "Demon" of light surrounding him and performing the riffs to extreme! Deepest of Respect! smilie

MessageDiscovered the site whilst browsing Dave Milners old BT photo's. I was a BT Engineer from 1978-1997, starting at 18 years of age. The 18 years I spent at GPO/Post Office Telephones/BT were the best working years of my life. I was mentored by great guys like Ron Firth, John Firth, Paul Heritage, Alan Beedham, Arthur Lyons and countless others. Of course I had the second-to-none training and development that GPO/PO/BT gave to all their engineers. I spent my time on Exchange Construction, Transmissionn Construction and Wideband Planning. Sadly, due to divorce, I left BT under voluntary redundancy terms in 1997, when I joined the emerging Cable Company - Yorkshire Cable. A number of opportunities came my way as the company merged and grew: Telewest, NTL and latterly Virgin Media. I progressed from Product Development Manager to Product Engineering Manager, finally finding my niche (I hope) in Project Management. I will always be grateful for the opportunities and experience GPO/PO/BT gave me. Such wonderful times and people. I still have many friends - Bob Tongue, Andy Knott, Dave Smithson, list too long to go on, sorry guys. Love the photo's on this site, especially the vehicles in their different liveries and varying types through the ages. I actually collect 1/32nd models and have many of the variants illustrated in the photo's. My own little memory of the good times I enjoyed. Now in my 30th year in Telecomm's. Health permitting I hope for many more. Best wishes, Roy.

Messagewell, just stopped by this page in a moment of memory talking about Buzby and thought it would be rude not to read the story so lovingly written. im glad i did, im too young to have experienced those days and feel a sadness that things have turned out the way they have, youre lucky to have had those years. the country has never given me an opportunity find a career and to be honest feel quite lost within the current work climate and wonder perhaps whether days gone by would have given me a better chance, because as it is i just feel like the skills i have to offer are wasted, unwanted and unattended. anyway, thanks for a rare glimpse into a real world of working man's history ... im passing this site on to my dad, who i hope will find a time to enjoy a little reminiscing and share a few chuckles at the pranks and mishaps.
best wishes to you smilie

Messagei have to agree . I personally think that DEEP PURPLE was one of the greatest if not the greatest rock band ever. There songs had such intensity and and coool blues sound. Jon Lord was a master on the key boards and Ian Gilian vocals were second to none.People don't realize that Ian Gillian played Jesus Christ in the original Jesus Christ Superstar. His vocal in that are classic

MessageHi,
Just came across your web site of the old home town. Iwas particularily interested in the photo of high street Killyleah in the 60's.
On the left hand side of the picture there is a white mini car parked outside a shop which at that time was owned by my father Tommy Williamson. The car may well be the white mini driven by my mother at that time and parked there while she looked after the shop.
congratulations on a tremendous site Harold Williamson
