| Message | First, I offer my most hearfelt and deepest sympathies, even though I know that words cannot hope to touch the suffering this must be causing you. Secondly, I wanted to alert you to the fact that only after I signed a petition, did I see at the bottom of the page to put postal code 4000, Brisbane if you are outside of Australia. This should be moved to the top of the page, so the petition will have more usable signatures. May the inhuman monsters who commited this crime have the book thrown at them and may Peanut's suffering not be in vain, as it spurs action to greatly strengthen penalties for torturing and killing animals. | Message | First let me begin by sending my condolences to the grieving family. I know that our pets are our family members, and it is nothing short of a heart wrenching tragedy what you and yours have had to endure. I hope the Lord helps you to find peace. Know that Peanut is in a better place and feels no pain, only joy at having been given the opportunity to be loved by you. God Bless! As for those responsible for this atrocity; anyone who is capable of doing something so horrifying to an innocent little puppy is nothing short of evil! These monsters fit the profile of sociopaths with no conscious, sense of remorse or personal responsibility. The fact that their moral compass could be so profoundly out of align makes me worry that they may be stalking our children next if allowed to get away with such malevolence! Is it such unlikely a conclusion to reach given the circumstances? Punish them to the fullest extent of the law! A statement must be made that this is unacceptable to the nth degree and absolutely will not be tolerated! I agree that these men need psychiatric care, but not as an evasion of their punishment; as a court mandated ADDITION TO their sentence, with the requirement to meet certain criteria before being released back to society. Perhaps it is time to reevaluate the animal cruelty laws altogether, as 2 years and $75,000 is not going to begin to scratch the surface of the horrors that poor little Peanut or her family was subjected to. |
