MessageHi,

I'm teaching myself about network troubleshooting and your blogs have been very helpful. I have a situation that I'll be writing to you in the on-line forum.

Thanks.

MessageThank you for a site that is well layed out and informative. (Not full of stuff that I cannot understand without having computer tech training)
The information and tools you provided have solved most of my network problems. (probably all with a little more work)

The tutorials are great and easily followed.
I believe most of my problems were the result of using Network Magic, which in my opinion takes away the funtionality of your network by automating everthing to thier designs. It also does not support all variables in a system or is not customizable to suit the user.

In any case problem solved. Thanks to You smilie

Warmest regards,
John Holman

PS: I love the way your country pick box loads the little flag in the message. I would like to be able to make such nice web pages.(To old and not enough time to learn it all)

MessageAfter slogging through most of your suggestions to set up a balky network I've found the solution on your site. I bought a used computer with Norton Internet Security installed (with personal firewall turned on). Didn't even know it was there (the firewall, that is). Turning off that firewall (but leaving Windows XP firewall turned on solved my printer and file sharing problems. Thanks very much for all the detailed work you've put in. Ralph

MessageDagnabit, Chuck! I was looking for a magic bullet, and you've provided seven weeks worth of reading and tinkering. I'm fed up! XP is the orneriest OS yet (after 95, 98, 98SE, Me, 2000 and 2003) that I've had the misfortune to purchase. I wish I had the time and patience to learn Linux.

Nevermind, I wish (and don't quite understand why not) I had stumbled over your site years ago. You are at least: thorough, practical, wry and not following any party line. Thanks, a thousand thanks for your time and effort in your site. A must read for any bozo such as myself, trying to impress the neighborhood geeks. I'll be able to share files with XP yet. I'm quite sure I won't entirely understand why, but my wife won't be crabbing about her Winamp playlists not functioning as they should. smilie

Cheers,
ratb

MessageChuck,

You have been a great teaching resource. I'm still struggling with blogging - mainly design and navigation - but I've found your blogs a great source of simple, yet useful, guidance. I still have a long way to go to get my site the way I need it to be, and it is good to know you are around. Thanks.
