MessageHi,

I've spent the last couple of days tearing my hair out (what little of it that is left, that is) trying to get network file sharing to work (three machines: XP Home, XP Professional, Vista) and finally, after trying what seemed like everything else ever published on the internet I stumbled across your site and, thanks to your your clear words of explanation and advice it now seems to be working. It's quite possible you have saved my marriage. Many thanks

Andrew

MessageJust found The Real Blogger Status while searching for some info. Very nice, very thorough -- good work! Just read the piece about making an offline or mirror of a blog, but it looks like it's Windows only, and I'm on OSX. Oh well, such is my lot in life.

Cheers from Kodiak, Alaska

MessageI have studied your pages for two evenings now. I have found them very informative. As a normal PC user (retired old chap)I am still lacking adequate knowledge about windows system. About networks; I am finding out the real nature of NAT, DNS, switch, briged and so on. I have always made this guestion to computer professionals; why instructions are without schemas and diagrams. Your way is going from bottom to top when repairing a problem. Learning networking could be more easily done, if users had a basic diagram with descriptions and perhaps links to dig further. Using pics would be next quantum leap in educating end users. XP Help and Support window is a little what I mean, but MS could make it much more sophisticated and further going.
I will continnue studying your pages. I have a new pc and the old one is suffering of "no connectivity" at times and is a good excercise to apply the new knowledge I may suck from your site.
With best regards,
Jukka Pursiainen
