MessageI was born in New Orleans and still have family in the area (French and Italian descent). Although I have lived in many states (now in Virginia for the past 22 years, I still believe that good ole New Orleans cooking is the best there is. I came across your site while looking for a new jambalaya recipe. Thanks for putting this together. I will be sending it to my mother, brother, children and other family members.

Messagesmilie Thank you so much for the recipes and information on your website. My husband, daughter, and I just came from a 5 day visit to NOLA. It was our first visit and I can't wait to go back.
We loved the architecture, history, and of course the food! I can't wait to try some of your recipes and share with our friends and family. Since they couldn't come along with us, it will be great to bring New Orleans to them.

MessageI just moved to Brisbane from Metairie, Louisiana (suburb of New Orleans). I didn't cook at home but they want me to cook New Orleans food for them here so I looked up gumbo recipes. I love your directions for making a roux!! I just made one substitution - Southern Comfort for beer smilie

MessageI'm so glad I found your site! I am a New Orleans native now living in Slidell, LA, and I love to cook from scratch. Though many of your recipes are very similar to mine, some have given me new ingredients and ideas to incorporate into my own dishes.

I ALWAYS use Pickled Meat in my Red Beans and can't wait to make my own.

Keep up the great work!

MessageI bought Donald Link's book at the Covington (LA) Farmer's Market a week ago. Most of the recipes look very similar to what was being cooked by the crews of the smaller offshore oil production platforms that I visited in the 80s & 90s, me.Good book, that.
