Messagesmilie This is a great site! I am a fan of Deep Purple and obviously Machine Head and Made in Japan are brilliant albums. I can't get enough of that amazing track Child in Time, and Strange kinda Woman, as well as the more talked about Highway Star and Smoke on the Water.
The pictures are great too. Thanks for this.
Cheers
Simon smilie

MessageWhat a fine collection of tales Dennis, many of which I can recount similar from the Preston Area. I started as a TTA in 1980 and left in 1999 as MPG2.

One story I didn't notice was the trick of making the Commer vans backfire.. I remember one installer (also called Peter) blow his exhaust whilst trying his third or fourth backfire down a downhill section of Kirkham town centre. Was it just local to Preston??

MessageEnjoyed your site very much. Worked for the GPO as a Youth in Training and T2A at Folkestone 1963 to 1966 then at the PO Tower 1968 to 1972 as a TO. But haven't worked in Telecoms since.

Used to be keen on motor racing in the early sixties Brand Hatch and later Lydon Hill were relatively close by but these days I watch the local V8 Supercars on TV and that is it.

Divorced men appear to have much the same deal in Australia as they do in the UK though because two of my three children stayed with me I was much better off than most.

I am redoing my web site but you are welcome to look
