MessageI would like to thank Martin (unfortunately, I didn't catch his last name) for the time that he gave to myself, sister and brother-in-law for the tour of the firehouse, the trucks and also for the tee shirts for my niece and nephews and also some of the fire prevention material which you use in schools. I have been a Volunteer Firefighter for the last 43 years and still are an active interior firefighter. I also served as a New York State Certified Fire Instructor for our County for 13 years. In the span of 43 years I have held all of the business and line officer positions at least once or twice. I currently am the Treasurer, training officer and safety officer for the department. I gave Martin our department website should you be interested in looking at our equipment...marionfiredept.com.

MessageI have used your links page to view many videos of other brigade's incidents, particularly those Stateside, and as an retired firefighter it has astounded me how alarmingly slow most US brigades (from the videos I have watched) are to get 'water on'. I many cases water on is at least five minutes! There seems no urgency whatsoever. In the UK and Ireland a hosereel jet at least is employed within a minute or less.

Call Sign: S11 05 is no longer based at Portadown. I haven't discovered where it has gone, but I suspect the 'big boys' in Belfast have grabbed the new machine.
