| Message | I'm unfortunately unaware of alot of Mr Tompkins' work and what he did for the athletes, but from what I understand he was an excellent coach aswell as a wonderful human being. Anyone who was involved in or influenced the sport I am coming to grow into and love has my respect. My thoughts go to his family during this difficult time. |

He wanted to impact others in a way that would bring meaning and significance to their lives. His passion and commitment to bring out the best in others was the way he lived his life. | Message | As a fan, I had the pleasure of meeting Shawn Tompkins on more than one occasion in the last couple of years on my trips to Las Vegas. Each time, whether it was in passing or at the Tapout Training Center, Shawn was open and receptive to my request for a photo opportunity and just to take a few minutes to conversate. It isn't often professionals in the world of sports recognize their fans, let alone take time out to acknowledge and communicate with them. However, Shawn was the exception to the rule. They say the "good die young," sadly Shawn Tompkins is a perfect example. May God Bless your family and friends during this most difficult time. I admired Shawn greatly, although I did not know him personally,I know his fighters and I have always admired not just how they fought in the cage but how they conducted themselves in the world representing Canada and Ontario.
