| Message | I was dignosed in October of 2011 and had the good fortune to be diagnosed quickly by Dr. Robert Todd in Syracuse, NY. Since then, I've had a wonderful meeting with Dr. Bolognese at the Chiari Institute and for once am thinking that after a lifetime of crazy symptoms perhaps I am not so crazy after all! |

| Message | Scheduled for surgery in a couple weeks. I was diagnosed with chiari four years ago and I've been dealing with vomiting, passing out, painful tingling, headaches, scoliosis, bladder control problems, and a number of other symptoms daily for about 6 years. It was only last week that a doctor (neurologist) finally told me it's not all in my head. Four years of knowing I've had this malformation and only now has someone even considered my chiari a possibility for my symptoms. I highly recommend that anyone with this malformation be educated about it and be sure to be confident with your doctor. |

| Message | I'm recently diagnosed with Chiari I Malformation and am in the process of testing to see if I need surgery or not. Thanks so much for all of the info and support here. It's good to know that I am not suffering alone as I try to cope and live with Chiari. I hope to find support and be of support as I go foward.  |

| Message | I was diagnosed with Chiari two years ago. It protrudes 6mm into my brain stem. I have been trying to get my physician to refer me to a specialist. I have severe headaches everyday. My head feels extremly heavy. I hurt daily. I also have DDD&DJD, Spinal stenosis,among some other spinal problems. I fell here not too long ago and it seemed to have effected my right side, among my arm and shoulder. I went in and had an x-ray and was told that I have scoliosis.(sp) Could my falling contributed to more symtoms or herniated the chiari further? Lately it seems like I have been drooling excessively. My speech is slurred and I am having memory problems. I have become very depressed. More so than usual. I am scaring my children and to be honest I am nervous myself. Any help and answers/comments would be appreciated.  |

| Message | I live in KY and thus far my current neurologist does not think it is significant neither does my neurosurgeon. I have almost all the symptoms but also have neck and back problems from a MVA in April 2006. I go to a different neurologist and neurosurgeon next week. I also have terrible burning, pin pricking feelings and some numbness all over my body - especially in my right hand and right index finger. I currently take 1600mg Neurotin / day. Thank you! |

| Message | My 16 year old teenage son just went through a surgical procedure that seemed to have cured his Chiari. It was a 48 minute procedure that was performed by Dr. Royo at the Institut Chiari de Barcelona located in Barcelona Spain. Most of his symptoms disappeared immediately after surgery and he was up and playing XBox 360 3 hours after the surgery. They only gave a mild anasthesia and a local anasthesia so he was sharp and coherent less than an hour and fifteen minutes after the surgery. WE documented the results with photographs before, during and after the surgery.It was performed on 01/17/2012 and we visited the Aquarium yesterday and went sightseeing all day today. He is an exceptional athelete and is the IJSBA World Champion and APBA 3 time National Champion in Watercraft Racing. He has also won numerous AMA Motocross Races and several Tri-State Championships. He played football, baseball, soccer and has studied Mixed Martial Arts since he was 6 years old. He likes wakeboarding, waterskiing, snowskiing and snowboarding as well as snorkeling and surfing. |

| Message | I was looking at a MRI Report because I am going to see a doctor on Wed. Not sure what is going to happen. I have been diagnosed with fibro but pain is alot worse. Hurt from head to toe. Decided to find out what I could and found your site. It was very informative. I really hope that I don't need all the info but I will be back if I do. Thank you for having this information and in words that the average or someone like me who can't seem to get it to together can understand it. I really enjoyed your site and would like to thank you again for all the info that you have on here. |
