| Message | I was diagnosed with chiari in November '07. I was having severe headaches and passing out. They did a MRI and they found the malformation. I dealt with all kinds of symptoms, i.e: headaches, dizziness, numbness in hands and feet, palptations, virtigo, u name it I was having it. Finally, my neurosurgeon decxided to do chiari decompression surgery. I had it done on march 29th 2010. The surgery got rid of some of my symptoms; headaches especially. Here it is a year and a half later and i am getting back all my symptoms and then some. I.e: bladder control-weak, headaches, memory loss, numbness in my heels and big toe, etc. Does anyone know what the next sytep is?  |

| Message | when my son had his decompression at age 4 we were told to let the doc. know if he started to drool a lot again and I was not told why I should look for that.He has had to urinate more often lately and his feet have been tingling more often should I be concerned ? |

| Message | Thank you for all the information ! I am newly diagnosed and very confused ...This condition has brought my life to a total halt! I found this myself after being dismissed to conversion disorder! What was believed to be a stroke two years ago.. that took my total right side! and word search from me! Taking almost a year to get them back ...the MRI taken at the time of the so called stroke! Read Cerebral Herniation of 7mm ...And no one even told me they had seen this ! A big waste of time and money !! this should be something we are told ! I wonder how many of these stories are out there? |

| Message | My son has Chiari Malformation 1 & syrinx. He just underwent decompression surgery a week ago. My son is 19 years old, is blind and severely autistic. He is not able to tell me exactly how he feels, so I have to interpret by his actions. I would greatly appreciate any input, as to how those of you who have had this surgery felt afterwards. Thank you! |

| Message | I am 29 and I was finally diagnosed feb. 2011. I have had symptoms my entire life. My 7yr old had her first MRI Friday and have not yet received results. I am hoping to eventually live a pain manageable life. |
