MessageThis is definitely a place I would like to get out and see.

I am a college student and I'm looking to build my portfolio. I was wondering if I could be given a more accurate address to this location? When searched on Google maps it doesn't show up for me but so far what I know is that it's at least 2 hours away from me

Hopefully someone can provide me with some more info. Please don't hesitate to contact me

Best,
AR

MessageInteresting story! Amazing how much money was spent to build this castle, and it now sets empty and in such a bad state of repair. How sad!

MessageFor Murray Dundass who lives in Ontario, CN, & and has John Dundass as~ 3x gr' grandfather. ME TOO! He & that branch entered CN., then migrated S.W. to KS, NB, etc. They then met up w/this branch of family from NE. I live ~ 45 min from Castle but only learned about it shortly after visiting SCT. Are you on the family reunion mailing list from ~ Banner?

MessageMy daughter and I visited this private no trespassing property today (June 24, 2013). We climbed the hill through the woods to get access to it. Unfortunately every window is broken and you can tell kids partied there. There's broken glass and graffiti everywhere. The property has not been kept up as it is over grown with weeds and grass. We went in quickly due to DEP patrolling the area and us not wanting to get arrested. I took a bunch of pictures and some video and quickly and quietly left. Very very sad that it looks NOTHING like pictures I found on-line.

MessageSaw a weather alert today for the Roscoe area which promted me to do a quick search on the castle. My father was a Prince Hall Mason and I have a not to detailed memory of the castle. Our family along with other Masonic families, took a short vacation there when I was a child back in the late 50's or early 60's. Will phone my brothers and email your site to them. Maybe they can help in putting together an oral or written history for our children and grandchildren. I'm thinking of even taking a one day drive during the summer.

Thanks for the memories

Debbie

MessageI am interested in visiting -possibly taking photos- at the Castle. How can I contact the caretaker beforehand? Such a treasure!
Thank you for creating & maintaining this site. Keeping history alive (in SC).
