MessageThurman Munson was/is my favorite baseball player of all time. Man, I cried like a baby when Thurman died (I was 15). He was everything you could want in a Yankee captain. He was unselfish, always played through nagging injuries, and he always seemed to come through with the clutch hit or play at the plate. No disrespect to Fisk, also a fine catcher, but Thurman was definitely the better catcher (I should know. I grew up in Boston!).
Thurman DEFINITELY deserves to be enshrined in Cooperstown. I hope to be there when it happens.

MessageI was a very avid Thurman Munson fan.
When I heard the news I just couldnot get a grip. The most special thing I did was cut out the newspaper clipping on that day he died. That newspaper clipping went everywhere I went until I lamenated it on a board and it now hangs in my living room. It is really special to me.

THANK YOU THURMAN for the memories.

I shall never forget!

MessageI grew up being a fan of the big red machine and Johnny Bench however I always enjoyed watching Thurman as a child. Trying to mimmick his hustle and determination on every play. Hopefully everyone that was to young or a fan of their own team will get a chance to see video of the Thurman Munson era Yankees and watch a tremendous athlete and leader.

MessageThurman Munson is a legend whose legend status was confirmed upon his tragic death. He definitely needs to be in the Hall of Fame, along with Roger Maris.
