MessageThank you, from the bottom of my heart for sharing this. Knowing that there are people out there who are also dealing with this and are succeeding in adapting to the psychological and physical boundaries this sickness sets, makes it a bit easier to endure.

MessageHad a retina detachment 12/29/14 followed by 3 tears jan 2015 in same eye. I go back every week which are considered panic visits but I have these flashes constant in same eye and dr says im ok.
I am having trouble coping with this. I feel like damaged goods. Thanks for your story, it does make me feel a little more positive. Im trying anyway.

MessageThanks for sharing your experience.

I just had an operation to fix my detached retina (macular off) on my left eye. and now "recovering".

Same problem as everyone else, with the blurriness and distortions.

Mine are not that bad, but this is all relative. Trying to see over the next 6+ months how much i can recover thru eating healthier for the eyes, doing acupuncture, reiki and positive prayers.

MessageJust found this as I'm 4 weeks into being treated for a detachment and was looking to see if the distortions were normal. I hope things have improved. Thank you for sharing.
All the best,
Rob

MessageHave you tried ayurvedic treatment. It might give you hope. I understand you lost one of your eyes but there is no reason to stop exploring other ways.

MessageHi, your story is very encouraging to us who are or have been thru what you had went thru, this happened to my left eye, from a partially detached retina which i lived with for many years and corrective lens to complete detachment,It was a terrifying experience and at that time it happened no one was around, had to go to hospital by taxi the world was like a white screen was over my left eye. I had a great doctor at least i have distorted vision in my left as opposed to none and my right is still ok, but i visit an opthamologist yearly, they had put oil in my eye instead of a gas bubble as i was a spinal surgery patient and the eye surgeon was right in saying that i would never be able to get thru 2 weeks strain on the back and neck as what you went thru,to ensure success so oil it was. Oil is still there seems no one is in a rush so i will follow up with my doc in 3 wks re oil and my right eye stat smilie us so far ok but i know what your going thru with your sight i have the same symptoms so .hopefully readers will remeber protect your eyesight, wear safety glassess get check ups and pray you have a good network of friends and family.
PS if you do start to drive later i recommend getting a special small mirror for your drivers side mirror on the car ,it will allow you to see the 6 feet of blind site on the left.

Good Luck and hope all turns out for you
Mike
ps still cleared to dive but am cautious

MessageHi!

I just wanted to send you a thank you. I am going through a really bad retinal detachment in my left eye while my right eye was born almost blind. It's been one month and two surgeries (one surg and one laser) and I seem to be recovering ok. I have held up well but after 4 weeks I started to cry and that's when I did a search and found your blog. You have reminded me that I am grateful and soo thankful for whatever eye site I have left. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
