MessageI had the pleasure of meeting Shawn in Vancouver @ his after hour party celebrating Sam's knockout of the night. I'm a huge fan but did not know anyone there. Shawn welcomed us into his party and took the time to inruduce us to all the big names. Real class act - made everyone feel like family with ease. Shawn gave me the fan experiance of a lifetime.

My heart goes out to all who knew him - his efforts made the world a better place.

MessageDear Tompkins family. I'm very sorry to hear the loss of your son and brother. Shocked!!! I grew up down the road from you, (Shepherd's) and remember taking my brother Duncan Shepherd and your son(brother) tadpole catching down in the creek just up the road from your house. He was a good boy. God Bless and stay strong..........my heart goes out to ALL of you!!

MessageYou'll be missed by so many not only in the MMA community, but also in the Mauy Thai community here in Ontario. You did a lot for the promotion or the Martial Arts, and we'll always appreciate and remember you for that.
Thanks so much.
R.I.P.

MessageI only ever saw Shawn Tompkins on TV, but even then you could tell he was one heck of a coach and just how he talked to fighters, especially Mark Hominick against Jose Aldo, I saw that he was someone who cared and knew his stuff. My condolences to his family and friends for your loss. I can't imagine your pain to have lost someone who I'm sure was such an amazing person in your lives. May you rest in peace Shawn.

MessageHi Tompkins family, I am very sorry for your lose. I trained many years ago under Shawn and Fred in Tilsonburg when they first opened there club. Shawn was only 4 years older than me but was someone that I could look up to and taut me alot most of all was self confidence. Back then we were a small club and close. He took us to his parents house to meet them as well as train in there back yard in Corinth by the tracks, we all went to small local karate competions and he supported us all even if we didn't do so well. We had a local karate demonstration team which i was captain of the first time I had ever been captain of a team. As we grew up work endevors took us away from each other. I occassionally thought of Shawn and wanted to try to communicate with him again like old times and now i am truly sorry I didn't. Shawn always saw potential in everyone one ,he will truly be missed !
