MessageWhat a great place. Ever since I was a little boy I loved old houses and estates and was always poking around in them for hours whenever possible. I grew up in Briarcliff Manor and would love to hear of any events or visitation possible.

MessageHi,
I'm a direct descendant of the Dundas family and live about 45 min. frrom the castle. The ancestry is VERY hard to trace as they all used similar names, inter-married, and changed their last names to Dundas for the (then) status. It is heart breaking that the castle is so neglected. I only hope the internet attention doesn't create curosity by people who won't respect the building or its historic value. NO, it isn't haunted! Chances are the Dundas women were institutionalized so they could be drained of their fortunes by DR.s and lawyers. Don't believe anything you read about the castle or the family.

MessageI visited the castle twice over the past few days while camping near by. I took many photographs and will be happy to share them with you. I'll be posting them on my flickr page .( a photo sharing web site)

I'm not too sure about it being haunted but it's pretty dan creepy for sure!

MessageI think it is wonderful you have begun to preserve this with newer technology.
I do not know where you are located, but there still people living in Roscoe that would have information.
It is beautiful, romantic, sometimes a little spooky.
If I ever won the lottery, perserving this was one of my wishes.
Keep up the good work.

MessageI've been to the castle a couple times and got a bunch of fantastic pictures, even a few that seem "haunted" if you would like them please email me. Also, the care taker was incredibly rude the last time we were there. Chased us away after we were given permission by another gentleman up at the camp, that is located on the same property. She told us "NO ONE IS ALLOWED AT THE CASTLE" and was very clear about it. However I've heard, if you catch someone there on a good day, they may let you up. I also heard (small town) that the care taker was replaced. Does anyone know if this is true? I'd like to go back!!
