MessageThank you for information about this castle. I watched a Youtube video on it, and thought maybe people would be interested in seeing this walk through. It was done with the caretaker present in December of 2017.It's called "We Found A Haunted Abandoned 1800's Castle In The Woods" by Interesting Creepy and Abandoned. (Sorry, this guestbook wouldn't let me post a link, so just copy and paste._

MessageI love these historic artifacts. I hope to restore one of these landmarks and possibly reside in it for a time.
Thank you for your effort.

MessageI grew up near there. A Masonic Group from the city owns the property and use the grounds for hunting. There is/was a hunting lodge/camp further up the hill on the property. I have been through the castle several times and it definitely has a kind of magic to it. The vandalism really sucks. I hear it is much worse now than it was in the 80s. As to the folks that suggest restoration, you have to understand the high cost of abating all of the lead paint and asbestos in the building. That is a big reason it has just been sitting unused.
Cheers

MessageIncredible labyrinth-like castle, with its inner courtyard, his unfortunately unfinished ends, looking almost like ruins; I feel quite passionate about it, especially since its condition is still good despite everything, I would almost dream of being a life-long caretaker, getting through the paperwork to get state fundings from the national monuments for its gradual restauration, and completion based upon refound blueprints if any exist, or help from an architect consultant or from a specialised Victorian restauration New England enterprise for the possible finished layouts of the incompleted ends of the castle may have looked like based on the style and to what use they may have been destined for ( for instance, flat roof with crenellated balustrade for observation).
A photograph of the small stone bridge would be interesting, like the one taken of the beautiful forged iron fence of the private service entrance.
