MessageI have seen something very similar in a different thread. You can definitely find certain parts of that article useful, not everything obviously, but I think it is worth looking into.

MessageMy wife and I love these places of history (gold coast, etc.). When I was in high school, I lived in the Villanova , Pa area and frequented a few mansions (abandoned) during the lull in construction of the Blue Route, early 1970's. Nothing as elaborate as Dundas but extremely interesting, none the less. It is sad to think that people just walk away from these wonders - they should atleast donate them to the townships or state so we all can enjoy what is (for most of us) beyond our reach in living.

MessageThought for the present owner. Hire a caretaker ASAP charge admission. You own a historical gem. Invest the funds in restoration. You may be surprised at the number of people interested in exploring the grounds or even helping the restoration project physically or financially. Whatever direction you plan, please don’t just sit and do nothing. Your loosing ground every day you hesitate. Make our future generations proud of what you did to keep this the gem as it was ment to be, a world treasure.

MessageLove to get the chance to walk around the grounds and check it out. Wish some rich person would pick up the opportunity to finish and refine what has been started. As a B&B it could allow us the chance to share the feeling of living the regal life. smilie smilie
