MessageHere in the USA, the only way Georgia will get support is if McCain wins and, Obama loses. So, all Americans should vote for freedom/McCain. Dear people of Georgia or, Gruzija, as Latvians call your country, do not surrender! Screw the Russians!!!

MessageMy sincere condolences to all Georgians over lives lost and the unacceptable brutality during the ongoing illegal Russian invasion and occupation of the sovereign territory of Georgia. Justice must prevail. The world stands with Georgia and the Georgian people. We must all have the courage to stand -- and act -- for what is right.

MessageMy heart goes out to the Georgian people. Being a Lithuanian-American, I can say that my country also has suffered and felt the heavy hand of the Big Russian Bear but we hoped that it was in the past. Obviuosly not. Know that freedom loving people support you.

MessageThe sacrifice which they collectively made was individually repaid to them; for they received again each one for himself a praise which grows not old, and the noblest of all tombs, I speak not of that in which their remains are laid, but of that in which their glory survives, and is proclaimed always and on every fitting occasion both in word and deed. For the whole earth is the tomb of famous men; not only are they commemorated by columns and inscriptions in their own country, but in foreign lands there dwells also an unwritten memorial of them, graven not on stone but in the hearts of men. Make them your examples, and, esteeming courage to be freedom and freedom to be happiness, do not weigh too nicely the perils of war. (From Pericles' Funeal Oration in Thucydides, The Peloponnesian War.)

MessageA wonderful men's ensemble from your lovely country (named "Chveneburebi") sang this evening in Tallinn at ceremonies marking Estonia's restoration of independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Very powerful and moving - we could feel the spirit of your brave people.
A. Applebaum wrote in the Washington Post, "We shouldn't let Russia pick each of our countries off separately...In recent years, Russia has preferred to deal with Western countries and their leaders one by one. Just last week, an affiliate of Gazprom, the Russian state-dominated gas company, added a former Finnish prime minister to its payroll -- which already includes former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder... The critical question now is whether the West is prepared to behave like the West, to speak with one voice and create a common transatlantic policy." If Russia is not stopped now, who will be next?
May God protect Georgia and the Georgian people and give you strength and courageous allies. I witnessed a great deal of sympathy for your cause among the American people.
