| Message | Hello Steve and Julia,  Glad you guys are still safe and sound. The latest posts on Columbia and Panama seems a bit milder than those previous ... it was probably a good decision to sleep in the airport that night instead of the hotel ... I would most likely have done the same thing as it did sound like a bit of a scam. We're counting down the days till we get the house - 18 to go! I had 3 critiques this last week, drawing, painting and ceramics and did very very well. I have printmaking critique on Wednesday and am in the throes of writing an essay for Art History so it's still crazy hectic but I'm surviving and still learning ... I still pinch myself that I've got this opportunity to do this. I can hardly believe that your trip is nearing its conclusion ... it seems like it was just yesterday that you and Steve held the assembly for the kids before you set off on the beginning of this trip! | Message | Hey guys it's Friday night here in Calgary, and we were thinking of you both, so we decided to drop a little line to say hello to you guys. We both love tuning in to all of your expeditions, and looking at all of the pics. We are going to go to Banff tommorow for a little get away, because we really need it. We miss you guys so much and hope that you are both loving what you are taking in every day. I am sure you have both seen so much to tell a life story, and we cannot wait to hear them all in person.. | Message | Hi guys,it is very late and I have just caught up with you in Bolivia.Sometimes I read your accounts of your tour and I get really scared for you. It just seems that you two are the bravest people I know, then the next breath you make smile and sometimes laugh out loud and I forget about being scared and upset and just enjoy the tour. Keep safe,peddle your asses off and I await your next leg of your trip. | Message | Julia and Steve, I am so proud of you guys. You are like the little engine that could. You just keep going no matter what is happening to you. I wondered if you would start to feel a bit tired to the blogging but you are doing well to keep it up. I love the pictures and what you write - very inspiring indeed. My parents are here visiting from Ottawa and I just showed them some of the trip and they are amazed as are the many people I tell about you. The countries in S.A. that you have been to have been very intriguing if not frustrating at times. The Mate drink - is that the one that is good for altitude sickness?? That is so cool your parents were able to go and meet you guys, wish we could just pack our stuff and finish the trip off with you guys. I swear one day when we win the lottery, we will do the same. It truly is something that you will both have forever, the awesome memories, and crazy recollections. We miss you both so much and we are counting down the days until you get back here. | Message | Hi Steve and Julia, Thanks for the most recent updates on Bolivia and Paraguay - you two are amazing peddling down those death defying mountain ranges! Glad to hear of your continuing adventures - although I must admit I did gasp at that last entry Julia where you said you were "bombed" on the bus - then in reading the next paragraph I discovered it was "water bombs" "WHEW!" My heart stopped for a moment there - don't do that! (ha ha). Well you'll be happy to know you may have a place to rest your head when you come out for a visit -we put an offer in on a house this weekend (tonight) and now we're just waiting to hear back from the realtor if it was accepted or not. We actually found 2 houses and wanted the first but they withdrew it from the market 4 days after we had viewed it and were scheduled to look at it again; apparently the fellow lost his job and so they aren't going to sell now as they won't qualify for a new mortgage - a shame we really loved it even though it was a bit more expensive. But, as I say, things happen for a reason and the house we decided to buy is a bit smaller but gorgeous nonetheless. So - fingers crossed - by this time tomorrow night we'll know if it's to be ours or not.  I can't wait to have a bath - a real bath - I may even splurge with bubbles too! The 3' shower in the 5th wheel grows smaller each and every day. Keep us posted where you are - we love hearing about the adventures. Take care of each other. Love, Rebecca and Mark |

| Message | Hey guys, Hope you are having the time of your lives! Todd and I were in Australia the same time you guys were and I wish I would have known! I was there for Tammy Carrs wedding and i had an amazing time! We left Dec 9th and just got home like a week ago and I have the travel bug! i am very jealous that you have been everywhere but good for you! Let me tell you to enjoy every minute you are away, home will never change, it will always be here! Also remember, how important you are to eachother and how much each of you have grown together! I am sitting here with Lindsey and Clay and they logged me onto this and i am glad they did! i learned so much about me as a person that i can't even begin! Take as much time to enjoy what you both have worked so hard to enjoy and cherish every moment together! See you soon Katie |

| Message | Hey guy, we can't believe that you guys have biked almost 12000 kilometeres. That is crazy, trust me we know the distance its like driving from Calgary to Ottawa back to Calgary and Back out to Ottawa again. That was an unbelievable drive for us it seemed like an eternity, but it was just driving for 40 hours. Wow you guys are in crazy shape. Anyways, yes it is freezing cold here so you guys are smart to stay where it is warm until it gets warmer here. We can't wait for your return.. It will be so awesome to go for dinner and drinks and here about all of your experiences.. Take care, we miss you both. Take care...... |
