MessageHi Andrys,

The programme for the concert in Verbier on 24 July has changed: instead of Schubert's 'Trout' Quintet, Argerich will now play the Schumann Quintet.

MessageHi Andrys,

Juste a small correction re the last CD box of the Lugano festival; Argerich does not play the piano part in the 1st Trio of Shostakovich: it's Lily Maisky!

regards, Willem

MessageSarah,
Thanks for sharing this delightful story with us. Great to know she felt so good after a concerto night and that she was, as she often is, so generous with her time and in a conversational mood.

MessageThanks to all the regulars and now Charles too, for keeping us all up-to-date on Martha Argerich's many upcoming concerts all over the world, until I can add the info to the concerts page. It's wonderful to see these.

To add a URL for info, even though the site does not allow or do links, due to spammers -- whose ads are deleted anyway -- you can just omit the "httpxxxx" part as some of you are doing and put down the rest of it. That's ultra helpful to get the official listing up more easily.

MessageHello everyone,

Just a note regarding the Royal Festival Hall performance in London. Martha delivered yet another powerful performance of Prokofiev's Concerto No. 3. Of course she gave an amazing performance; I'm sure anyone who was there would agree. The audience gave Martha a wonderful reception (although the Paris audience back in March went wild) and she played two encores (both Chopin mazurkas).

After the concert, my friend and I went for dinner. As we were leaving the restaurant after midnight, we just happened to meet Martha who was walking down the stairs of the hall...

She was so very graceful and charming; smiling, laughing and chatting. Martha signed my programme and a CD I had with me; she was in no hurry and conversed at some length regarding various pieces she plays, and pieces I like to play.

It was a wonderful, wonderful evening... and an unforgettable experience!

Sarah

MessageMartha Argerich schedule:
Hi Andrys for your argerich concert page, there are many other scheduled concerts.
In september, in the frame of the Dutoit/Royal Philharmonic tour, there are also concerts scheduled in Brussels (see bozar.be website) on sept 4 and, maybe, in Copenhaguen on Sept 3.
For the Mendelssohn double concerto, it's actually a tour with 5 dates: see emiclassics.de website

There are also dates on the following link :
argerich konzertvorschau japanese webpage.

Also, there are 3 more concerts with Zilberstein in germany in July : in Wiesbaden on july 12th (rheingau musik festival) and two concerts next to Hamburg on july 14th and 15th (schleswig holstein musik festival.

Sorry, I cannot provide the webpage as it seems disabled on this guestbook.

regards,

Charles.
