| Message | Was stationed at McPheeters barracks from 1961 to 1963, started in L Troop as a scout and transferd to Hq Co. as as the support units offcers driver and 5 ton ammo truck driver, I have alot of photo that were taken on the base, of my unit and convoying and training at Grafenwoher, boy was it cold there. |

For allowing me the pleasure to have served under his command,while in L Troop. he was a gret insperation to me as i was at the time a very trubled young 18yr old who wanted to needed guideince and COL Barry,never gave up on me,becomeing a true Trooper,SO AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU SIR,(RET COL BARRY ). Served under youas as a E1 I Left hersfeld in 69, to 4th/INF DIV.-RETURNED TO L,TROOP IN 70. Stayayed a few months back to nam,went back to 4th,did another tour,left army in very late 71 as Buck Sgt,THANK YOU SIR FOR Not leting mebeing one of men who seved under your tenuer while you our capt in 68.in hersfeld.  |

| Message | My first duty assignment after Armor Officers Basic was with the 3d Squadron at McPheeters Barracks in December 1966. I was assigned to K Troop commanded by 1LT Frank Koleszar. I later commanded K Troop and then L Troop before I went for Vietnam in December 1968. I went to the 2d ACR after Vietnam and then after a bunch of great assignments came back to the 2d ACR again in 1986 to command the 1st Squadron, 2d ACR. I finally retired as a Colonel in 1994 from the Army War College. I went back to German last spring and visited all teh sites of old assignments. We stopped at Bad Hersfeld and all teh old memories of Graf, Wildflecken, border tours and the glass palace where we lived. What a great time, but sad at the dame time to see the old Squadron area abandoned. |

| Message | hi, all of you 14th A/C. I was in Bad Hersfeld from early '60 to 62. My unit was there when the Wall Went Up... I was a scout in the 3d squad,Yeah! The winters were harsh, but I bet they beat the jungles of Nam, or the deserts of Iraq! God Bless all of the boys and girls there! Jerry |

| Message | Served in HHQ Trp from 1/1/1960 to 7-1963. Went back in 2003, met up with Joe Michaud and had a great time reliving old memories. Trained at Ft Hood in 15th Cav before going to BH. Interested in communicating with any old troopers from my era. |
