| Message | I was so impressed with your knowledge of DP I spent a bit of time browsing your various sites, I like Sheffield and think it is one of the friendliest cities in the world, however I must take issue with you mate, I don't mind the blades but if I had to pick a team from the steel city, it would have to be the owls.... At least we agree on music. |

| Message | I am a MASSIVE Deep Purple fan and for my sins I live in Grimsby (it's not that bad really), I've seen DP numerous times starting with Knebworth and including the time when they dropped by and played within walking distance of my house in 2002. This is a piece of useless information but here goes, on this day in 1979, Grimsby Town were playing at Hillsborough 6 days before my 12th birthday, I went to that game, I got into music about a tear later when Tommy Vance played 'Speed King' on his show, I thought 'WHAT IS THIS'? Went out and bought as many DP albums as my pocket money could stand, years later I found out Whitesnake played the City Hall on the same night. Music or football? Talk about split loyalties. |

| Message | great site telling it how it was i joined in 1979 and served as a lineman for 29 years in worksop / sheffield rotherham doncaster areas when i joined i was part of the family untill privatisation in 1984 when privatisation destroyed the job during that time i met many characters and made many friends the photos of maltravers brought back a lot of memories |

I was 15 years old and it was the first time I've seen rock music performed on stage. After the concert I thought that I could even die now because I had seen IT. It changed my life and DP became th soundtrack of it... |
