MessageIf the XIX century was symphonic, the XX was rock century, and Deep Purple is a great symbol of this.
Deep Mercy for keeping alive the purple.

MessageThank you for your memories of the greatest band of the world.

Was too young to see them in 1973 (Amsterdam). Later I almost saw every concert by (ex-) Deep Purple members.

MessageSi, d'accordo.
Same feelings about meaning of DP in my growing age, as much italians of my generation.
I saw them 3 times: 1972 (maybe 1973) at Genova Palasport, their Machine Head and Live in Japan period(fine show but horrible sound system, maybe because the acoustic stuff of that place or maybe because italian organisation didn't spent right money for it, I don't know)+1987 at Arena di Verona(reformed original band, a marvellous gig)+ Palasport of Genova again in 1992 or 1993 or 1994....memory doesn't help me, with Joe Satriani on guitar(routinier and a bit boaring gig) + Ian Gilland Band at London's Marquee in october 1979 or 1980 I'm not sure, with Blackmore who appeared during encores(remember that little stage door at Marquee when it was located in Wardour street?) Blackmore went out from that little stage door playing Woman from Tokyo chords and performed a nice old rock and roll classics 15 minutes set with Ian Gillan on vocals, with the band involved into an enthusiastic support.
....oh, my old days....
Ciao. Massimo
