| Message | love your review of Go Tell It on the Mountain! i was absolutely floored by it, one of the few times i was able to immediately recognize a book's artistic value and craft as separate from my own taste. it was so beautifully written that even when it got really prosey and became kind of a slog i was still captivated. i picked it up after watching a lot of James Baldwin videos, and he's one of the only writers i've found who seems to write with the same cadence as they speak. i wonder how you enjoyed listening to it? it's so rhythmic. i feel like we had very similar reading experiences... Gabriel's Prayer was by far the best part tho :P |
