MessageHello. I just had the same procedure performed on my right eye. It was totally dumb luck that I went I decided to stop by the ER that fateful day. I had noticed over the previous week that I was losing vision but it had happened before and then went away but this time the blind spot was crossing to the center of my nose and as I was passing the hospital entrance I thought oh what the heck all they will say is it's nothing so go home. Well the first doc saw me and that my retina appeared detached and I've needed to get the head doc and within minutes they were back and did a sonogram and the head doc said if this was an emergency since it was on its way to full detachment. Yup I was now scared as hell I immediately went to an optometrist and then he sent me to a surgeon. I had surgery the next day. Everything went well. Also I was fortunate that the first week I only had to sleep on my left side for 24/7 and this week on my left side 50%oand my nitrous oxide bubble is over 50% smaller- it's been 2 weeks now since surgery and I feel I'm lucky to be getting blurry vision over the bubble full range but impatient to get my full vision back. My doc had said that since my detachment was so large I may lose my sight completely so I may be lucky to just get blurred vision. I'm am staying positive and so thankful a little voice told me to stop by the ER.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your experience has definitely been worse than mine and send you prayers

MessageHi, thanks for sharing your story. I had retinal tear surgery 6 weeks ago and still have distorted vision with wavy and fading lines although the doctors are saying that everything is great with the retina, macula etc which I truly find hard to believe. Was wondering if with time those indeed went away in your case? I would be very grateful if you could find time to respond. Many thanks!

MessageHello dear!
I'm really inspired and motivated by the story because the same is happening to me. I would love to ask for your help. Would you please send me the email address of your Japanese doctor? I'd like to contact him and discuss my problem with him.

Thank you so much!

MessageI have retina reattachment surgery in a few days, im terrified, my retina has been detached for over a year, i can see light but thats it, my vision has always been very bad but complete blindness is my biggest fear, i know ive waited so long that i probably wont regain much if any sight, i would do anything in the world to have bad eye sight ive lived with all my life back, i took the little sight i did have for granted, now i am thankful for the sight i have because i couldn't imagine it any worse, bad sight is better than no sight ... i wish you a great recovery , your story gave me a little hope
