| Message | My deepest sympathy goes out to the "Team Tomkins" family. Shawn will be truly missed. This is a huge loss for everyone. I have had the opportunity to meet most of the guys but never got the chance to meet Shawn until last Saturday but I never made it out to the fights. I regret not going. RIP Shawn Tomkins Travis |

| Message | I am from Buffalo, NY where MMA is illegal and the fight world is a small group of people, who pretty much all know each other. When Shawn was still in London, Ontario my roomate at the time, Mike D, would make the drive up to London weekly and stay there and train over the weekends. I never met Shawn, but he was kind enough that when he moved to Vegas he took Mike with him and allowed him to stay at his house there, training and helping him get fights, and giving him a shot that would not have been possible for Mike if he had stayed in Buffalo. I know Mike is really tore up about this, as I am sure all of Shawn's fighters are. From what I have heard from Shawn's fighters, he was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. My thoughts are with all of you and I hope you guys carry on the team name, as all of Team Tompkin's fighters always bring it in the cage and in the ring. |

| Message | To the Tompkins and Stout families... so sorry for your loss. I knew Shawn in highschool and it has been so great to see him succeed as he has... I always knew he would do great things! My thoughts and sympathies are with his wife, his family and close friends - stay strong and lean on one another and remember the good times. He was a true inspiration to so many people and his legend will live on, I have no doubt about that. RIP Shawn, I'm glad you got to live your dream.... you will be sorely missed by all. |

| Message | On August 14th, 2011 the MMA world lost one of it's Best. Not only a great leader, trainer, and advocate of the sport, a great friend, brother and husband. I can say as a fellow Canadian, I respected you even more for following your dreams, for your pure determination, and for striving to be the Best in the business . Your approachable nature and addictive personality are what people will miss the most. Fame didn't affect you. From all the recent postings, one thing remains the evident. You always had a kind word, a smile, or time for anyone who approached you. A few years back you were generous to extend your home to my husband for training, and you and Emilie treated him and his friends like family. Despite the fact that they were almost like complete strangers with only the love of the sport in common, you were there. No questions. Because that's who you were. Such a tragedy that life was grasped from you at a time where you had finally made it. You represented and made Canada proud Shawn. I know I speak for many when I say there will never be another Shawn Tompkins, you may be gone from this Earth, but you will never be forgotten. Guess the big man upstairs finally caught on to the MMA wave and needs a great Coach. Well.... he's got the Best. You're in his corner now. Rest in Peace my friend. Catherine Liddle |
