Message | I am an Orthodox priest, of Ukrainian-Russian descent. I currently serve a parish of the "other" Serbs here in Michigan. I've always been fascinated by the history of the various Slavic peoples. I believe that "my' Serbs may have originated in the Sorbian homeland and migrated southward. I'd like to hear from anyone interested in this theory. My e-mail is [email protected]. |

Message | This is a wonderful, informative site and commend all involved for putting this site together! My G-G grandparents were Johann Carl Bernstein & Magdalena Jeremias Bernstein, who brought their family from Lehn, Germany in 1869 on the ship "Bark Galveston" and settled in Serbin, TX. Johann's parents were Christian Bernstein & Maria Zieschang Bernstein in Gross Kunitz, Germany. I'd love to find out who Christian's ancestors were, but it's difficulty. Any suggestions to point me in the right direction would be appreciated. If any of you are also descedants of this family, I'd like to hear from you at [email protected]. |
