MessageIn 1999, Eve asked me how I would celebrate the upcoming millennium. Having not yet given it a thought, I said something vague about '....maybe fireworks'. That wasn't enough of an answer for Eve. She really pressed me on the importance of completion of a century and the celebration of a new one. She sited other countries' efforts to commemorate the event. Still at a loss for anything as substantive as she was requesting, I told Eve I was collecting the Waterford Crystal series of champagne glasses leading up to the millennium. She wanted to see them. Then, as she twirled a crystal glass in her hand, she quizzed me on who would be drinking champagne with me on New Year's Eve, 1999. I've always thought of Eve as a futurist. A relentless futurist. Happy Birthday, Eve....

MessageIn honor of what would be Eve's 44th birthday,I want to thank Eve's Fund for giving me the opportunity to receive the highly competitive Eve's Fund Scholarship at Navajo Prep. This will allow to continue my education and reach the goals I have as far as going to college. I will not forget you Eve, you would have done great things in the world. Barbara, she was bright and wanted to change the world in many ways. Her memory continues through the work that is being done in her name. Even though we never met her, we will always remember her and always be thankful for the little things in our life. Once again, thank you Eve.
With loving thanks from Keona Hosteen

MessageEve was a beautiful and special sister in law who is greatly missed. I feel certain she would have been a wonderful and FUN aunt, and we hope that, through stories, our children get a sense of the dynamic person she was.

MessageEve,
I'm so grateful for our time together. I still can't wrap my brain around you not being here. The memories of our time and shenanigans on Palmroft Dr. are legendary. I'm so proud of all your accomplishments. I would have expected nothing less from you. Can't believe it's been 13 years. Your family has worked so hard to ensure your name and legacy lives on. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing you and loving you can never forget you. I love you and celebrate you!!!!

MessageMissing my cherished daughter today and always.
"The days will always be brighter because you existed. The nights will always be darker because you're gone. And no matter what anybody says about grief and about time healing all wounds, the truth is: there are certain sorrows that never fade away until the heart stops beating and the last breath is taken." ~ Author unknown

MessageThinking of Eve on this sad day tomorrow. She would be very proud of the fund established in her name and the educational assistance it provides to Navajo students. A recent donation of $10,000 to them is also a tribute to Eve's parents and brother Wyatt for their tireless efforts in keeping the fund growing.
May all her family and her many friends and colleagues continue to remember Eve in this way. It is truly a worthwhile cause.

Aunt Mary Jane
