MessageI love medieval castles and when my husband was working along the Beaverkill and found this he knew he had to take me there. I snapped photos and fell in love. I would love to purchase this property and restore it to what it could be while still leaving it as it once was. It's been over a decade since I visited but it is still fresh in my mind. Walking up the turret stairs made me feel like a princess! Absolutely beautiful. It is very sad to see it so neglected and vandalized. It is a shame to see something like that fall to ruin. Maybe someday........

MessageHi , I like that you made this site for Prince-Hall (Dundas) Castle. I have so many great stories & memories of the place. When younger , I spent a lot of time in & around the castle. We had many parties & at 1 time , I was great friends with the caretaker's (at the time) Son , Vance Suber. The subject of almost all of the parties , were the haunting-type stories! As the nights went on & people had more beer-muscles , then and only then , we would go exploring! lol. More recently , I also did electrical work there with my Father. I still go there fishing in the spring & summer. The left side of the bridge is 1 of the best fishing spots on the Beaverkill river! Although you DO need permission , so just don't show up or you will be removed with-in 5 minutes. I still remember the story about the Haunting if you would like to hear it sometime...at least version I was taught. Again , Thank you for making this site! smilie , I love old places , especially those with an interesting provenance.

MessageStumbled upon this castle and fell in love with its design and structure. I also live in a very old dwelling. A farmstead from the 1852 and we just remodeled the barn which was erected during the Civil War. We are currently in the process of adding structures to the Historical Society. Keep up the good work. We need to maintain and restore our History.....Max

Messagestumbled upon the location while looking for camping sites. My brother and I are an Adventure Touring riders from Binghamton, NY and we have added this as a bucket list item while we discover the paths less traveled in the Catskill Mountains. We tread very lightly in our travels and hope to be able to visit.
