Message | As I rode my first half century (big deal) on my new (ll/2007) carbon road bike with another member of the Gulf Coast Bicycle Club, we met you on the Tammany Trace. Wow! Both of us were impressed with you, but true to form, I put the task first and pushed on to the turn around at the west end of the Trace. We did 53.4 miles on our trip. You must have done 5300 miles (or more) on your trip. I am sorry that we didn't turn around and ride with you. We hope your day was as great as the weather was.
Then, Friday night, I learned that it was you, that you were traveling east and wanted to use U.S. 90, a route that I am hoping to promote as a Bridge to Bridge Connector. And, Saturday night, I learned from Doug Heller that you had a great ride from Waveland to Ocean Springs. I am so glad that you came our way. If you could tell your story of riding by the beach, I'd be grateful. Now, I hope you know the Irish Blessing because I can't quote it but I'm wishing that for you, and I am asking the Almighty to treat you good! Long live Long rides, Jim Foster |
