| Message | I enjoyed reading your blog, "Evince v. Evidence". The word missing from the above sentence is what prompts my request. I often see the world "entitled" used in place of the world "titled" (e.g., "Her dissertation entitled, "..." as opposed to "Her dissertation titled, "..."). I hold the belief that "titled" is the appropriate word in this scenario. "Entitled" seems to imply that her dissertation deserves "...". However, due to the many instances in which I have seen the word "entitled" used, I am beginning to doubt my belief. I realize that you have not posted in awhile, but I would be very grateful if you would take a minute to possibly prevent me from making a further fool of myself. Many thanks! |

| Message | Hi, I'm glad I found your website. I teach English as a Second Language. In class I often make facetious remarks. One of my students prefers the word "ironic" to facetious. I'm really not sure of the difference! You have a comparison of facetious and sarcastic, but what about facetious and ironic? Your response will be GREATLY appreciated. |

| Message | I just came across your blog while looking up the difference between a couple of synonyms. I love the blog but was sad to see that no entries have been made since 2008. No goodbyes. No information about moving to another domain. It just stops. I always wonder what happened to bloggers that disappear like that. Makes me wonder if they passed away suddenly and no one thought to take down their site. Gives me the heebie-jeebies. I hope you're well and just got bored with the site.
