Message | I enjoyed reading your blog, "Evince v. Evidence". The word missing from the above sentence is what prompts my request. I often see the world "entitled" used in place of the world "titled" (e.g., "Her dissertation entitled, "..." as opposed to "Her dissertation titled, "...").
I hold the belief that "titled" is the appropriate word in this scenario. "Entitled" seems to imply that her dissertation deserves "...". However, due to the many instances in which I have seen the word "entitled" used, I am beginning to doubt my belief.
I realize that you have not posted in awhile, but I would be very grateful if you would take a minute to possibly prevent me from making a further fool of myself.
Many thanks! |
