MessageHi!

I'm trying to identify novels by aid/development workers about aid/development work. Do you know any? Looking at your site I can't believe you haven't written one.

This would be for an article/blog or something as much as general and professional interest.

I hope to hear.

Thanks
Jonathan Potter

MessageWhat a marvelous site, Peter. Your stories, your travels, indeed your entire experience is inspiring. I landed here for the financial meltdown story, and wound up with an entirely different perspective on how some people choose to live life.

[Peter says: Hi Boc! You know, this is one of the greatest compliments I can get. Thank you!]

Messagehi! im really glad to have found your site. i am still studying now but for a long time i've been wanting to volunteer because its a really inspiring work..maybe i will when i graduate. your stories are simply touching. keep up with the work and may you be blessed for it!:D

[Peter says: Hi Jo! That is the right way to go: start with volunteering. Or try to get an internship in a humanitarian organisation in your graduation year, or connect with them when writing your thesis or other graduating work! - Thanks for your encouraging message :D ]

MessageIm speechless!...i dont know i have the same feeling as u way back in ur 90s..searching "living your life". I'd worked with the South East Asian Refugees at Philippine Refugee Camp for 9 years as a community organizer and administartion officer,i'd never felt that im working...i really enjoyed every minute id spent with them...food, shelter, security, water, every aspect of refugee life in the camp, till processing their papers to their country of final resettlement. i resigned in 1992 for the sake of my childrens education in Manila. I went into bussiness for 16 yrs and yet there is this emptiness in my heart...the passion to work for humanitarian cause, travelling, working with and for people. It took me alot of meditation, deep thinking , soul searching till i finally packed my things, begged my 4 kids ( 21, 20,18 and 12 yrs old) to understand me, moreso with the husband, i love them very much but there is this emptiness i have to fill up...now im here in Cambodia tryin to find my way back to work for humanitarian cause...You gave me so much inspiration to move on...the life u have is what i love...its just an accident id seen "The Road to Horizon" i even thought its a song that i open it....maybe its not yet late..im 47yrs old now...but working for humanity gave me strength and feeling young again...more power to you...ur a gift to humanity..my salutes to you....God speed

[Peter says: I am really glad you found the blog inspiring, Dorie. I wish you the best of luck on your road back to the humanitarian world!!!! ]
