| Message | My family's roots are in Toricella apparentlty dating back to the 1700s according to official documentation that was found recently in Toricella archives. I was there 20 years ago as a 20 year old. When the local hotel operator heard why I was there, they contacted the local priest who met me the next morning and showed me my grandfather's church records, his brothers' and sisters and my great-grandparents marriage records. My cousins Ron and Carole were just there in July and they had a wonderful time exploring and making a connection to their roots. I am finally coming back in July for hopefully 3 days and would love the opportunity to see more of where my great-grandparents lived. I know for a fact the house is still standing, though boarded up and falling into disrepair. The property owners knew my family!! They left Toricella in 1924 as a family. My grandfather was only 13 years old (Vincenzo DiMeo) and his parents Antonio and Antoinetta DiMeo. I look forward to returning once again and learning more about my family's homeland. |

| Message | For Pamela Piccoli I saw your post and I think we might be related. Antonio might know for sure, but we have a lot of names in common. My dad was Nicola Piccoli born in Torricella in 1929. His dad, my grandfather was Camillo Piccoli and he had 6 or 7 brothers and sisters and many of them had the same names of your family members. I think remember hearing something about one of the brothers going to Argentina. Antonio might remember better than me. I'll try to check with my Uncle Joe (Giuseppe). We live in California and he is the last of my dad's siblings to be alive. Did you check the Piccoli Family Tree under the Geneology section of this web site?? Let me know. | Message | My name is Pamela Piccoli I'm trying to make my family tree, the only information I have it's that my great-grandfather's name is Nicola Piccoli, he came to Argentina in 1885 in a ship called Perseo at 25 years old and he was tailor. I suppose that he came with a relative called Filomena Piccoli of 23 years old. I have no idea where my great-grandfather was born but looking your family tree a found a lots of names that we have in common. My great-grandfather married Rosa Cobelli here in Argentina and they had 7 children: Giusseppe Piccoli Camillo Piccoli Nicola Piccoli Roberto Piccoli Antonio Piccoli Mario Piccoli (my grandfather) Carmen Piccoli I hope someone can give me som information I was watching Antonio Piccoli's family tree but I couldn't contact him.
