Hopefully, our other cousin, Julian, will be able to join us for the trip when we get to Positano the week before. It's always wonderful to be with family and enjoy the people of Torricella. | Message | Hello! We've recently returned from a WONDERFUL visit to Italy (May 2015). My mother left Torricella at age 13 for America,just after WWII, and this was her ONLY trip back. We cannot say enough about how warm and welcoming the people of Torricella are! The area is visually STUNNING with breathtaking views literally everywhere. In addition, the ride to Torricella through the Abruzzo region is also just spectacular. It was incredible - and very emotional - for our mother to sit in the pews of San Giacomo Church and to walk La Piazetta once again(along Corso Umberto)after 69 years. For my family to see her in her hometown, and envision her there as a child along with our grandparents,was deeply moving as well. This website was EXTREMELY helpful in planning our trip, and I wanted to express my deepest thanks to ALL who've put such dedicated time and effort into it's creation and maintenance. For us, this was once-in-a-lifetime experience to share with our mom, and we will never forget a moment of it!! Grazie once again, and safe travels to all who are so blessed as to visit this magnificent town!! Ciao! |

| Message | Salve!Sono una italo-americana che vive in Italia. Vorrei tanto avere informazioni su i miei antenati: La mia bisnonna Nicoletta (Coletta) Di Marino, nata nel 1882,è partita per l'America nel 1897 dove si trovavano i suoi 6 o 7 fratelli lasciando a Torricella sua nonna quasi centenaria.Il nickname usato in famiglia era PAONE o Pavone. Mio nonno Donato Antonio D'Attilio insieme a suo cugino Mike Di Marino sono tornati più di 40 anni fà. Purtroppo sono tutti deceduti e vorrei tanto sapere i nomi dei genitori di Nicoletta Di Marino. Her mother died given her birth and her father died when she was 7, around 1889. Se qualcuno ha info. ringrazio anticipatimente. |

| Message | My great-grandfather, Antonio Porreca was married to Rosa Palizzi. They immigrated to the USA in the early 1890's I believe. I will be in Italy December of this year, and would be thrilled if I could find someone who knew my great-grandparents. Please feel free to email me. Thank you! |

| Message | My grandparents( Panteleone DeStefano and Antionette Porreca DeStefano) were from Torricella Peligna as well of an uncle(named Colangleo). We visited several years ago for a very brief time. Very beautiful town and surrounding area. Hope to return some day. |
