You forgot to mention your housekeeping talents and how my standard of living improved. (I can't beleive that was 31 years ago) I'm sorry that I never got to introduce you to my best friend at the time: Roddy Piper. Those were the kayfabe days of wrestling! | Message | I was at the end of my rope. I was saved by Lanny Poffo. The year was 1978. My father was an angry drunk. He beat us many times. I was planning to run away from home. I had no money. I met Lanny Poffo at the Wrestling matches in Tacoma, WA. He let me stay in his house and treated me like a Queen. He found me employment and taught me how to save my money. A few months later, he was leaving the Pacific Northwest and I had enough to get on with my life. Lanny is the dearest gentleman I've ever met. I saw 3 more times since then. He always remembered me. He always had time for me. I'll never be able to pay him back. I just want the world to know about Lanny! He's no Saint but he's MY HERO! |

| Message | I'm not going to sugar coat it and say that you were the greatest of your generation, because let's face it you were simply just wrong for that generation, in fact so was your brother and few others. I don't look at you as one of the top guys from back then, but moreso as THE PIONEER of that era. Moonsaults, Springboards, exception technical ability, along with astonishing mic skills "The Genius" never suited anyone else. The fact that you took a back seat to all of those other "Superstars" makes me respect you that much more, because it shows that you loved the business not the fame. You are in fact a revolutionary when it comes to how the business went from these giants to the entertainment that we have today and anyone who tells you different is probably some bitter old hack who couldn't cut it in the ring. I thank you for all of your contributions to this business, if not for people like you, your brother, Hennig and Roode I certainly would not be the Sports Entertainer that I am today. So again from the bottom of my soul, THANK YOU! |

| Message | I just read the previous guestbook entry by David Glass. You're right! Lanny Poffo is a great guy! I met Lanny in 1989, at the zenith of his career. He'd just defeated Hulk Hogan on NBC. I met him at the Arco Arena in Sacremento, CA. I've met a lot of wrestlers but none compare to Lanny Poffo. (the GENIUS!) A real class act. I only wish other wrestlers could follow this example. |
