| Message | I just saw your poem on WWE.COM! Good, good,good! I hope this is the beginning of a long-term business relationship. You could contribute so much to the WWE product. I've been a fan of yours since the good ol days of ICW. In 1981 I owned a retaurant outside of Lexington that you and some of the other wrestlers used to frequent. You were the real standout though because you always came in very happy and took the time to get to know my entire staff on a first name basis. My food servers absolutely loved you and used to fight with each other to wait on you because you were also a very generous tipper. Some of the other ICW wrestlers who ate at my restaurant were: Doug Vines, Jeff Sword, Bob Stabler, Hoot Gibson, Dallas Young, and a guy named Steve Cooper who used to brag that he managed the ICW champion and always asked for free pie...which I gave him. I'm now retired from the restaurant business but I'll always be grateful for customers like you. In fact, I still have the picture of when you were gracious enough to pose with me and my staff at my restaurant. It was taken by a very nice man named George Hill who I think told me at the time he was a wrestling photographer. Lanny, both me and my wife, Neddie, remember you as always being a gentleman and a real class act. Judging by your website and the admirable things you are trying to accomplish, I can tell that you still are. |

We need more positive role models for our children and I applaud your efforts. Well done! On a sad note, I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Ernie Ladd. What a phenomenal talent and one of the most entertaining promos in the business. Anyway Lanny, I wish you continued success. I had the pleasure of meeting you last year at a restaurant in Raleigh, NC. I waited until you finished your meal before I asked for an autograph but couldn't help notice other autograph seekers didn't afford you the same courtesy. The impressive thing was that you didn't seem to mind and you made it a special moment for each person. Thank you. |
