MessageHello-
I worked with Jimmy Griffin these past several years on Griffin, Yancey and Guilbeau, his actual final studio and live project. Rick Yancey was a Remington and Ronnie Guilbeau is a hit songwriter (Call It Love for Poco) and the three part harmonies were and are unbelievable. I was the manger/promoter, pitching the CD to labels, arranging gigs, doing promo, etc. We did the CRS in March 2004 at The Trap in Nashville, The Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, and more. We were starting to build a buzz when Jimmy got sick. While it's a tragedy, everyone should take comfort in the knowledge that Jimmy is in a better place. He was a wonderful, courageous guy and a unique talent. I can't really think of an influence on Jimmy, he was an original.
I do a monthly column for a Florida online paper The Country Grapevine (www.countrygrapevine.com) and Jimmy's tribute should be on there any day now. The GYG (Griffin Yancey and Guilbeau) album is available on CDR thru my website www.drewreid.com. It's great, great music.
Thanks to everyone everywhere on behalf of GYG. Jimmy was a tremendous soul, and he was singing better than ever at 60. I know, I've compared it to the Bread stuff.
Dave, thanks for a great overview. Great website.
Sincerely,
Drew Reid, for Griffin, Yancey and Guilbeau

MessageGDay Dave and the gang, you have come a long way since we were programing Nu Country FM. The site is impressive and the info on line is welcome. In fact since reading about the Davidsons I have pulled my old 5 string banjo out again, thanks for that.
Good Luck and long future.
