Default Character set with Finnish language

Hi!

I'm having problems showing the Finnish language option.
The Scandinavian letters (ä,ö) are not showing correctly in the field labels, not in UltraGuest Live Guestbook or from my browser.

My Guestbook ID number is 1197232439, if you want to take a look.

Best regards,
Mervi

Thanks for your feedback!

I'm sorry that the language does not display correctly. Can you please take a look at the link below and let me know if you can see the variables correctly there?

It should be working now. It seems I also got the errors when I visited your guestbook, but after I added html codes for the special characters it works in my browsers (IE7 and Firefox 2 on Vista).

Please let me know if you are still experiencing errors or if I've missed any characters!

Hi Andreas!

It looks perfect now! Many thanks.

One small detail: There is this field indicating how many characters are left. After that is label 'merkkiä jäljellä' divided to two rows. Is there any way to keep these words together?

I'm glad the language works. About the layout issue, it will require a redesign of the template system and will take some more time since I don't want to break the look of existing guestboks. I'm sorry about that...

The plan is to make the layout more customizable and perhaps offer a few pre-designed layouts/themes.

I've added this issue as a bug here:

Hi!

That's ok. Maybe if you could just drop the word "merkkiä" (that is characters) ?

To get back to the original question, I noticed that there was some strange text in a message box I got when I left out the writer's name...

Thanks again! It seems that when you use javascript to display a foreign language with non-standard characters you need to use a whole different set of values:

Finnish should work now and the other languages will be updated within a few minutes.
