MessageLater on in life John aquired a new nickname:"Johnny Gunz". This came from the members of ROLLING THUNDER. I want to thank each and every member of ROLLING THUNDER,not only for what you have done for my brother when he got sick, but for the joy you brought to his life.Whenever my brother spoke of you, his whole face lit up. He loved all of you and was very proud to be part of ROLLING THUNDER.In closing I will say again, I cannot imagine life without my brother John.I feel lost without my big brother and my heart has been broken in a way it has never been broken before and I know the rest of my family feels the same way. Please pray for the cure for cancer. Rest in peace Johnny Gunz. Now you can breathe again. Be free and ride that Harley in the sky..........Peachy

MessageEvery family has their shining star. John was my families shining star. It is hard to imagine life without him. Even while my brother was suffering, his love & concern for his family was his top priority. When he saw us crying, he would start to cry and apologize for getting sick. With all of his pain, our pain is what hurt him the most.He was a great brother and son. There was nothing he cherished more than his family. My brother John had a unique gift. People were drawn to him.If you met him once, you remembered him forever.Whereever he went, he brought laughter. He had a way of animating a story like no one else I have ever known. His presence lit up a room. A week before my brother passed, one of his doctors told me, she could not believe how hard he was fighting. This did not surprise me.John was as tough as nails. As a young man in Bensonhurst his nickname was Johnny Bull, because he was so tough. When I was about 10 yrs old, John got into a fight with a guy who was much bigger than him. This guy kept knocking John to the ground, telling him to STAY DOWN.But John DID NOT stay down.He kept getting back up.Neither man won that fight, it ended because they were both exhausted. To me his battle with cancer was the same as that fight so many years ago. With John getting knocked down and getting right back up.No matter how big or strong his opponent,he kept getting back up,until he was too exhausted to fight anymore.

MessageYour demonstration of love and respect for Johnny Gunz today was deeply moving. John was a man who was truly well liked, loved, and respected. If anyone didn't know that...they know it now. As his friend, I want to thank you for supporting him and his family and being true "brothers" to him. He loved you guys... During his battle with cancer he taught all of us about courage, self respect and strength. His sense of humor will forever be etched in my heart...Please keep me informed if there are events in his honor...I will surely attend....I know you will keep his memory alive. With admiration, respect and sympathy...Flo

Messagejust got home from my brother JOHNNY GUNZ'S funeral...have to let every single ROLLING THUNDER member know, as much as I am overwhelmed with grief of my beautiful brother's untimely passing, I am just as overwhelmed with love & respect for what you have done today...his favorite things in life were his family & being a part of ROLLING THUNDER, just talking about his bike, fixing it up, making it louder & riding with you guys made his face light up... & I just know John is up there right now, telling his stories & jokes, making Jesus crack up laughing, and getting more "pull" to protect all of you when you ride...John was a stand-up guy, loyal to whom he loved, and when he loved you he loved you hard & deep & that's how he felt about all of you..so I will end this by saying thank you from me & my family and want you to know every time I think of John I will think of his ROLLING THUNDER BROTHERS. God Bless all of you!!!
