Good day folks,

I see there are some countries MISSING in the country field:

San Marino
Greenland
Faroe Island
Aland Island
Hawaii
Gibraltar


and ONE correction is the country Rwanda
I did see it is rong in the country field.


As well I look forward to have the option in the guestbook for
people to write their website URL in the guestbook.

Hi,

Hawaii is a part of the US. Greenland is Danish.

In general I use the The CIA Wold Fact Book when adding new countries:

The following will be added:
San Marino
Faroe Islands
Gibraltar

Rwanda will be spelled correctly.

The Aland Island I could not quite figure out. People living there are apparently considered Swedes but they have their own parliament and a representative in the parliament of Finaland. It is not listed as a country in the CIA World Fact Book, but they have a flag so I guess I can add it to UltraGuest. This is the flag as far as I can tell:

Hi Andreas, yes this is correct and this is the flag of Aland,
All those countries has their own flag, and are self-governing, and have their own flag

I guess as long as a region of some size and sovereignty has it own flag there is no reason why it should not be added. However, states within countries should be avoided. Hawaii is one of the 50 US States and having a flag for Hawaii would not be right - unless I also added the rest of the 49 States + D.C. In which case we would have to add all states/regions in all other countries which would make the list endless.

I think using the CIA definition of a country (whatever that is :)) should be ok:

I guess Greenland is not defined as a part of Denmark as I assumed in my previous post, so Greenland will also be added to the country-list.

The countries that eventually will be used are the ones supported by the ISO 3166 standard. As far as I can see that will be the countries as defined by the United Nations: http://unstats.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49alpha.htm

Last time I used Ultraguest there was no selection for Northern Ireland. I am glad to see that has now been rectified.

Would it be possible to get a flag or a symbol that corresponds with the entry? The current one is not on your lookup and I am unsure of what the flag actually is that appears for a N.I. entry :confused:
